The First Book of Birch Root Craft - complete with all the extras provides everything necessary to grasp the fundamentals of root crafting. It covers everything from pulling roots to creating the final product. Master craftman Gunnel Eriksson, hailing from Botsmark in northern Sweden, skilfully demonstrates how to bind and shape objects, as well as how to create various patterns. Throught the development of this book, Gunnel has shared stories about her life and what root crafting means to her. I am Gunilla Axelsson and for the past year, I have had the honor of documenting this exquisite, slow-paced craft, that Gunnel has dedicated most of her life to. Every step is detailed through both text and images and also captured on film. In these videos, Gunnel explains and demonstrates the craft processes.
